Yahoo bounce message: 421 4.7.0 [TS02] Temporarily deferred

This error indicates Yahoo! is seeing unusual traffic from your IP address and/or that emails from your mail server are generating complaints from Yahoo! Mail users.

Stop all this jibber jabber, what does it mean?

Yahoo believes that either your IP address or the SMTP server you are using has been sending emails to Yahoo users that have generated too many complaints; Yahoo users have been using the "Spam" button in their accounts too often in a short amount of time. Because of this, Yahoo is temporary blocking email either based on your IP address or your SMTP server address.

Did I do something wrong?

Perhaps (if Yahoo is referring to your IP address, yes), but it may also refer to your SMTP server IP address; in that case it may be another user that has caused this temporary block. If you have been sending regular mail, it is most likely the SMTP server that is temporary blocked instead of your personal IP address.

How can I fix this?

Best would be to wait for a few hours before trying to send email again to Yahoo users. This is a temporary problem that will automatically get fixed over time. Usually these type of problems are solved within one or a few hours, unless the user complaints continue. If you are sending newsletters or mailings, it would be a good idea to fill out the "Yahoo Mail Bulk Sender Form" (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/bulkv2.html) so you will receive user complaints directly and clear your mailing list.
