Hotmail bounce message 550 SC-001
Mail rejected by Outlook for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for help.
Stop all this jibber jabber, what does it mean?
Hotmail believes you are or have been sending spam to one of their users and is temporary refusing any email that comes from your email address or computer.
Did I do something wrong?
Yes, sort of... If you are absolutely certain that you did not send spam to a Hotmail account, then you are probably using an IP address
that has been used by somebody else for sending spam.
How can I fix this?
You can do one of the following:
- Wait a few days and then try again, it may solve automatically over time
- Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and ask them to clean your IP address reputation (good luck)
- Reboot your computer and if you have a router at home, turn it off and on and hope for a new IP address assignment...
- Start using a different SMTP server that does not publish your personal IP address in the email header
